VERBIER, SWITZERLAND

LA CORDES DES ALPES IN VERIBER

As a skier there is nothing more exciting than a jaunt to some luxurious spot to enjoy the snow and sights! If you ski regularly, you know about the EPIC PASS. One of the major benefits of this pass is that it features international ski resorts that change every couple of years. One year, it was Verbier, Switzerland. We just HAD to go. The thought of hurling down steep, icy slopes was too much to resist:) Maybe it was more the thought of sipping ice cold Champagne at the bottom……

Set on the first and second floors of an impressive wooden ski lodge, Cordée des Alpes Hotel has been thoughtfully designed to integrate with the surrounding alpine architecture. A delightful boutique property with a 15-metre pool, a superb spa, a fitness room and close to the buzzy nightlife and slopes, this is a wonderfully good-looking place, both inside and out with the most amazing mountain views.

The attention to detail in the design of Cordée des Alpes Hotel makes quite an impact. The floors of the property are in beautiful aged wood while each room and suite has a timber balcony with wonderful views of the mountains. Attractive stone fireplaces with wood mantelpieces, and comfy chairs and sofas mean this is a wonderful place to unwind and relax.

The hotel is AMAZING and elegant. The creator of this swanky spot thought of literally everything! The windows were covered with film that moved with the sun so that you would never be blinded by glare. The linens are Frette. The service beyond impeccable. And, certainly the skiing and views breathtaking.

With over 260 miles of groomed ski runs and 90 lifts across the four valleys of Verbier, there is serious skiing on hand at Cordée des Alpes Hotel. A short walk from the hotel and you are in the heart of the village with its boutiques, restaurants and bars. In summer, there are numerous enchanting walks in the forests and meadows.

If you have a chance to visit this stunning spot, GO! Or, put it on the Bucket List….it’s definitely worth the trek.
